Daniela e Bruno vieram do Brasil para casar entre vinhas portuguesas. Em Monverde, na sua Adega dos Tóneis, encontraram a luz certa.
Para Daniela e Bruno, o casamento atravessou um oceano. Vivem em São Paulo, e quiseram que esta celebração acontecesse longe, num lugar que dialogasse com o vinho, com a paisagem, e com a ideia de fazer parar o tempo por uma noite.
O Monverde Wine Experiences Hotel, no Vale do Sousa, propôs exactamente isso. Uma propriedade rodeada por vinhas em produção, com uma Adega dos Tóneis. Um espaço construído em torno de tóneis de carvalho centenários, que se converteu nessa noite num dos jantares mais distintos do norte de Portugal.
Daniela and Bruno came from Brazil to marry among Portuguese vineyards. At Monverde, in its Adega dos Tóneis, they found the right light.
For Daniela and Bruno, the wedding crossed an ocean. They live in São Paulo, and wanted this celebration to take place far away, in a place that would speak with the wine, with the landscape, and with the idea of stopping time for one night.
The Monverde Wine Experiences Hotel, in the Vale do Sousa, offered exactly that. A property surrounded by vineyards in full production, with an Adega dos Tóneis at its centre. A space built around hundred-year-old oak barrels, transformed that night into one of the most distinctive dinners in the north of Portugal.

O dia desenhou-se em três tempos. De manhã, a propriedade preparou-se em silêncio. Ao fim da tarde, o noivo desceu até à quinta num Triumph descapotável dos anos setenta, em verde British Racing. Antes da cerimónia, ainda houve tempo para a luz cair entre as vinhas.
The day unfolded in three movements. In the morning, the estate prepared itself in silence. In the late afternoon, the groom arrived at the property in a seventies Triumph convertible in British Racing green. Before the ceremony, there was still time for the light to fall among the vines.

À noite, sob os tóneis, abriu-se o jantar. A mesa foi pensada para sessenta convidados, com flores em tons pêssego e blush, candelabros de prata, e candeeiros de franja em tecido suspensos sobre as traves antigas. Cada lugar com prato dourado, talheres assinados, e menu em papel de algodão com caligrafia à mão.
At night, beneath the barrels, the dinner opened. The table was designed for sixty guests, with flowers in peach and blush tones, silver candelabra, and fringed fabric pendants suspended above the ancient beams. Each place set with a gold-rimmed plate, signed cutlery, and a menu on cotton paper in hand-written calligraphy.
Houve cuidado em cada elemento que se vê e em cada um que não se vê. O bolo foi desenhado em verde escarpa, com monograma DB esculpido, sem confeitaria desnecessária. Uma peça única, mais arquitectura do que pastelaria.
There was care in every element that is seen and in every one that is not. The cake was designed in deep escarpment green, with a sculpted DB monogram, without unnecessary confectionery. A singular piece, closer to architecture than to pastry.

Mais tarde, no momento simbólico do corte do bolo, a adega fechou-se em torno do casal. A peça verde, as flores em redor, e os convidados em silêncio antes do brinde.
Later, at the symbolic moment of cutting the cake, the cellar closed in around the couple. The green piece, the flowers surrounding it, the guests in silence before the toast.

À noite, com as luzes baixas e a música suave, abriu-se a pista. Mais tarde, ainda houve um momento privado entre os tóneis. Apenas o casal e a luz quente das franjas. O resto pode ficar para a memória deles.
At night, with low lights and gentle music, the dance floor opened. Later, there was still a private moment between the barrels. Only the couple and the warm light of the fringes. The rest can remain in their memory.
Antes da cerimónia formal, há sempre um corredor de silêncio. A noiva à porta, a respiração lenta, alguém da equipa a ajustar o véu pela última vez. São os instantes que nenhum convidado vê, mas que decidem o tom de tudo o que se segue.
Before the formal ceremony, there is always a corridor of silence. The bride at the door, slow breath, someone on the team adjusting the veil one last time. These are the instants no guest sees, yet they decide the tone of everything that follows.
Voltaram para São Paulo com a sensação rara de terem casado num lugar que parecia ter sempre estado ali à espera deles.
They returned to São Paulo with the rare feeling of having married in a place that seemed to have always been there, waiting for them.
